RAMSGATE CROQUET CLUB can easily be found if coming by road
from the London Area or the M25 by taking the A2 becoming
the M2, now a very fast road with recent improvements, down
to the junction for Canterbury where you stay on the main
road as it becomes the A299 signposted Ramsgate. This again
is a new road which you continue along until a roundabout
where you take the second main turning signposted Ramsgate.
At the next roundabout join the A253 still heading for Ramsgate
and pass Kent International Airport on your left. The road
narrows after the Airport. There are two roundabouts together
and you continue along the A253 signposted Ramsgate. Straight
at the roundabout for the port and second turning at the next
roundabout the B2054 London Road. About the fifth turning
on the right (after Warre Avenue) is Stancombe Avenue. Take
this road and at the bottom turn right on the dual carriageway
that is the Royal Esplanade. The Club is immediately on your
left. A journey of just over one and a quarter hours from
the M25.
By rail Ramsgate station, (a twenty minute walk down Grange
Road to the Royal Esplanade,) is served from both London Victoria
and London Charing Cross both around two trains an hour during
main travel times. Hope you can find us........ We are not
at the end of the earth!.
